Start Business

The ABC’s of Business

So you’re sick and tired of working and want to venture forth to the deep and start your own business? Luckily for you this is for you. At most of the time people don’t know where to start their own business. They may be afraid of investing money or worse don’t know where to start the bandwagon.

One of the main reasons why people start their own business is that they want to have freedom from their daily routine. Others want to improve their quality of lives by earning more than what their company is paying them to do. To some they want to be the manager of their business and explore further more opportunities what life has to offer them.

Now taking from the reasons above, starting your own business requires a carefully planned step in order for it to succeed. You must muster the art of strategy before starting your first business. To get started we move into the so called Investigation phase. In this phase you reflect on yourself on what kind of person you are.

The type of person you are reflects on the way what your business will be in the near future. These include Duty fulfillers who have an introverted personality, The Mechanics, introvert guys who are cool onlookers, The Doers, extroverts who love on the spot problem solving and lastly the Executives, people who are in the same extravert group with frank and decisive leaders.

The second part of the investigation phase greatly adapts on what your business options will be. Questions like “Do you like to work with your hands or brain?” or “What interests you?”. These are some questions that greatly affect what your business will become and how you will succeed. This questions guide you if your business will succeed or not and also gives you the whole overview of the problem.

Plant a Seed and Watch Your Business Grow

Do you have all the business you could possibly want or need? If you’re like me, you’re still growing your business. Marketing is an ongoing item on my agenda, and I’m always looking for new ways to market my services. Where do you begin the process of attracting more business? How do you get the ball rolling in the direction you want your business to be heading? Well, it’s really simple. Start planting seeds! If you can start your garden growing this spring, why not start your business growing too?

You can start by telling everyone what you do, including those people in your life you see every day. Talk to your hairdresser, dentist, financial advisor, or babysitter. You just never know who they might know who may want or need your products or services. Leave business cards with those people, so they can hand them out to others who may be interested in contacting you. That old saying that includes the line “the butcher, the baker, and the candlestick maker” may just ring true after all.

Plant seeds everywhere you go. Typical ways to market your business are fine, but the best way is by simply using word-of-mouth. “Who do you know…” can be a very powerful statement when you are talking to others about what you do or what you sell. Let your presence be known. Be creative! I have a Team 100 list of the top professionals I know. When someone either in my professional circle or my personal circle is looking for a particular service, I’m able to refer them to someone I know and trust. All of the professionals on my list are able to refer me to those they know as well. It’s a win/win situation. My name is on their list, their name is on mine, so the seed has been planted, and keeps growing.

These are just a couple of great ideas to help you get started in growing your business (if you want more business that is!). Taking some small action every day is better than doing nothing at all. Following a simple action plan consistently will most likely lead to several great opportunities down the road. Who knows? If you put in the effort, you just may find new business knocking on your door instead of the other way around.

Spring into action…and watch your business grow by leaps and bounds!

My thoughts on obtaining a business license

Hi There,

Their is a lot of things that have to be done, but don’t let that stop you from moving forward on your dreams to have your own business.

I know plenty of people who let this get them stuck. You maybe starting off slow, but let me tell you. If you get it right the first time, then you will not have to worry again.

When you start your business, you need to obtain a business license to operate. Otherwise, it would not be legal for you to manage it.

In order to obtain a business license, you need to follow some steps and afterwards pay an application fee.

The first thing you should do is to locate the assigning body for business licenses in your city and state. Now, you have to take note if your business needs multiple licenses. This will depend on your size of company and the type of products you provide. There is a list of business license providers, so just refer on it.

Next step is to certify that your building and property follow the municipal codes applicable to your business. You don’t want to get in trouble right? So, there should be a certificate of compliance and occupancy given to you. You can get this in your local government. This certificate verifies your adherence to zoning ordinances, signage requirements, and maximum occupancy limits.

Another step you must take is register with your state’s revenue service before you obtain a business license. Wait till your company be assigned with a tax-identification number which can be used on a business license application.

Then, schedule for a health inspector to investigate your facility before you operate. This is part of the requirement in obtaining a business permit. Health inspections will certify as well the cleanliness and quality of your production processes.

Lastly, review the fee schedules associated with a business license. Most licenses need to be renewed on a regular basis and fees are based on a number of factors such as apartment buildings.

Just remember before you open the store, you must secure a business license first.
